The Take Me On Vacation pressed eyeshadow palette is apart of Kylies New Vacation Collection that launched this summer (or winter for us in Australia) and WOW it looks stunning!
The palette features 16 different shades with a range of matte, satin and metallic finishes. The palette also comes with a dual end eyeshadow brush as well as a mirror on the top lid.
I personally love the packaging. It is a soft nude color which fits right into the vacation collection’s vibe with beautiful gold embossed writing on the outside. There is also a magnet inside the palette which helps keep the palette securely closed.
Let me start off by saying that this is my first eyeshadow palette purchase from Kylie, so before it arrived I did not know what to expect. Now I’m going to cut right to it. This palette really surprised me!
While swatching these eyeshadows, they felt nice and creamy and most of them are really pigmented.
8 Top Row Swatches:
First Class: Matte Lavender
Summer: Metallic Peach Gold
Pina Colada: Matte Yellow
Starfish: Matte Soft Papaya
Island Girl: Metallic Bright Blue
Sail Away: Metallic Deep Gold
Aloha: Matte Pastel Peach
Palm Tree: Deep Matte Brown
8 Bottom Row Swatches:
Sea Breeze: Matte Soft Sand
Coconut: Matte Warm Taupe
Paradise: Metallic Copper Gold
On The Rocks: Matte Grey Lavender
Sunset: Satin Red Copper
Spray Tan: Matte Brown
Luxury: Metallic Bronze
Surf Board: Metallic Grey/Silver
The metallic eyeshadows in this range are my absolute favourites! They are super pigmented and glide on the skin so nicely. Island girl (blue) and surf board (metallic grey) are also very glittery as well which I was really happy with as I don’t have many glittery eyeshadows in my collection. Paradise and Sunset really caught my eye as I am a huge fan of coppery metallic shades. The metallic shades are full of shine which look great on the inner corners and the eyelid.
I found the very light matte shades slightly sheer but I was still quite impressed by them. However, you do not have to build them up too much to get the full color. Sea breeze is a very nude shade on my fair skin so this color is great to use as a base.
The only color I had a bit of trouble working with was Palm Tree (last shade on the top right). It applied patchy at first so I would recommend really blending this color well and applying lightly at first.
Honestly, I think Kylie done an amazing job with this palette. I am sure I will be getting a lot of use out of it with the amount of looks you can create.
